Ideal Candidate:
Gravitas Securities Inc. is looking for a bright, motivated young professional with experience in the securities industry. Must be interested in a career in the investment banking industry. Will work alongside experienced industry leaders. Must be a self-starter and comfortable working both independently and as a part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth market, industry and company research
- Build comprehensive and complex financial valuation models, including discounted cash flow, comparable company, and precedent transaction, without the use of templates
- Prepare company, industry, and market briefing documents
- Assist with preparation of engagement letters and agency agreements
- Use the S&P Capital IQ web portal and plug-ins to conduct research and financial analysis
- Apply knowledge of accounting principles to inform financial analysis, including International Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook to complete computer-based tasks
- Use and create macros and Visual Basic to increase efficiency when working with Excel and PowerPoint
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/ Finance or a related discipline (Master’s degree is an asset)
- Enrollment or completion of the CFA is considered an asset
- Knowledge of investment banking processes and related industry practices
- Must be able to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a positive, professional attitude and demonstrate professionalism at all times
- Must be able to work well independently with an ability to work collaboratively with others
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality, utilize judgment, and work with minimal supervision
- Should be highly motivated, independent but able to work within a team in an environment that is fast paced and rapidly changing
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and quality of work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
