Institutional Sales (Vancouver)

Ideal Candidate:

Gravitas Securities Inc. is looking for a bright, motivated professional with experience in the securities industry to join our Vancouver office. Must have a passion for finance and the capital markets, must be self- motivated and have high attention to detail. Must have an ability to perform under pressure, meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and manage several on-going projects simultaneously.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Institutional Sales rep will be reporting to the Senior Managing Director
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with, and service to, buy-side portfolio managers/accounts
  • Trade settlement support
  • Responsible for interface with the Investment Banking team in order to maximize agency commissions
  • Account opening
  • Institutional sales support

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • An understanding of the securities industry
  • Being able to multi task yet be detail oriented
  • Work in a high energy environment
  • Strong computer skills including basic proficiency in Excel and Acrobat
  • Candidate will be expected to enroll in the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices and Trader Training course
  • Post-secondary education graduate
  • 2 – 5 years’ experience in sales with a record of demonstrated achievements and leadership
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Creativity and strategic thinking skills
