Mr. Carbonaro serves as the Firm’s CEO & Head of Investment Banking and is responsible for the Firm’s strategic direction. Mr. Carbonaro started his career in 1999 with BMO in personal banking and investment lending before moving to a mid market boutique dealer’s corporate finance practice in 2002.

Mr. Carbonaro has extensive experience in leading investment banking teams executing on successful transactions in various sectors. He has held senior management positions at both IIROC & FINRA dealers and has detailed knowledge of private placements, Reverse Takeovers and Initial Public Offerings in both Canada and the U.S.

Mr. Carbonaro also serves as President & CEO of Gravitas Capital International which is the firm’s FINRA dealer with offices in New York.

Nima Besharat is a Vice President in the Investment Banking Group at Gravitas Securities. He has over 5 years of extensive Private Equity, Merchant Banking, and Directorship experience.

Nima has UK legal experience in Asset Management, Structured and Asset Finance and Corporate Finance and Private Equity at BNP Paribas, Allen & Overy and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.

Prior experience in Wealth Management at Scotiabank and TD Bank. Nima articled with Oxford Properties Group, the real estate investment arm of OMERS, one of Canada’s largest pension plans.

Nima holds a BA in Economics and History from Western University, a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from the University of Sheffield, a Master of Laws in International Business Law from King’s College London, University of London (Dr. Peter Dyne Scholar), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Corporate Finance) from the University of Law. He is called to the Ontario Bar.
