Gravitas Securities Inc. is pleased to announce that Fabiene Evans and James Beattie have joined our Investment Banking team in Toronto.

Fabiene and James are welcome additions to the GSI Investment Banking team. Fabiene has over 20 years of experience in Capital Markets. As a highly driven Capital Markets Executive she has built a long standing career with expertise in research, investment management, institutional equity sales, banking and advisory.

With a passion for growth & innovation she has a strong background in working with small early stage companies in diverse non-resource sectors, including industrial, technology, healthcare, cleantech, and consumer products. She brings a distribution network of strong relationships with Institutional and High Net Worth clients. Her experience in growth & innovation investing has consistently generated investment ideas that are well-received by investors.

Fabiene began her career at Touche Ross where she then went on to earn her CA and CPA designations. Fabiene is also very involved in her community with a focus on women and children. She was a founder and past Board member of “Santa Comes to Bay Street”, and past Board member of the North York Women’s Shelter.

James is a Senior Capital Markets Executive with over 25 years of experience in the domestic & international capital markets, in both Investment Banking and Capital Markets Trading roles.
His industry experience includes Equity Market Structure, Entrepreneurial Growth Capital focused on Technology (Mobile Messaging), & Non-Bank Financial Services.

James previously held Senior Executive positions on Independent IIROC Broker Dealer Platforms as well as at CIBC WM Inc, RBC CM and BMO Asset Management (formerly BMO Investment Counsel).
James is known for driving top results by building motivated, high performance teams on a foundation of operations infrastructure excellence.

James is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Odette School of Management (University of Windsor) and the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto), as well as a CFA charter holder and a FCSI.
